Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) on Thursday, 26 October 2023, hosted its third Regional Engagement and Awareness session in Kokopo, East New Britain (ENB) Province.

Close to 100 Nambawan Super Employers and Members from both Public and Private Sector employers where in attendance, comprising of Management, human resources and administration staff.

Public Service representatives from the PNG Correctional Services; Royal PNG Constabulary; PNG Ports, PNG Customs; NAQIA; PNG Customs; Water PNG; and ENB Provincial Administration, Education and Health officers attended.

Representatives from the Private Sector such as Islands Petroleum; Gazelle International Hotel; Gaulim Teachers College; No. 1 Hire Cars; University of Natural Resources and Environment; and Divine Word University, amongst several other employer groups also attended.

During the one day session, NSL’s Senior Management presented information and updates on the Fund’s Branch and service enhancements, Customer Experience initiatives, Employer Relations activities, the importance of Member Data collection, Member uptake of value-added services, and the utilization of Digital Services such as SMS, Mobile App, and other online platforms.

NSL’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Paul Sayer stated, “By engaging with our Members and Employer groups in the Regions outside of the National Capital District, we are working towards building stronger relationships that ensure our Members have access to valuable information to be able to make more informed decisions about their superannuation savings”.

“These Regional Engagement and Awareness Sessions allow us to connect and discuss initiatives and opportunities that will benefit our Members now and over the long-term. They also provide us an opportunity to learn about some of the challenges they face so that we can better tailor our services to meet their evolving needs”.

“The session is part of the Fund’s ongoing efforts to deliver more information and awareness about superannuation, the Fund’s performance and activities, and improve the accessibility of NSL’s products and services to all our Members across the Country”, Mr. Sayer added.

While in Kokopo, NSL’s CEO also hosted an awareness session with the students and teachers of the Gaulim Teachers College which was also attended by officers from the PNG Correctional Services and teachers from nearby primary schools. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions about superannuation directly to the CEO and receive valuable feedback on simple and complex queries.

Mr. Sayer remarked, “It is always a pleasure to meet with Members outside of our major town centres, as they don’t often have a chance to visit our Branches and learn about how to maximise their superannuation outcomes”.

“Our Members in the rural areas work hard every day to bring crucial services to their communities and they do not ask for much in return. Nambawan Super cares about all our Members wherever they reside or work, and we are working hard to ensure that all our Members can access important information that will benefit them in retirement after a lifetime of nation-building”, Mr. Sayer added.

The Engagement in Kokopo follows the Fund’s 2023 Employer Conference hosted in July in Port Moresby and is the third of several regional engagement activities delivered in 2023. The previous two Regional Engagements were conducted in Mt. Hagen in July and Lae in October.

The Fund will host its final Regional Engagement and Awareness session in Wewak on 17 November and encourages employer groups and Members in the area to register their interest to attend at the Wewak Branch or calling NSL’s toll free number 180 1599.
