Assumptions
Projected super balance at retirement:
The projected total super balance takes into account your starting balance, employee and employer contributions, any additional voluntary contributions as well as interest earned between now and your retirement.
Retirement age:
We have assumed a default retirement age of 65. This can be adjusted in the calculator.
Working life:
The calculator assumes that you will have a continuous working life with no breaks up to your retirement age.
Interest rate:
The default investment returns have been set at 6.0%. This is based on the Nambawan Super 10-year average interest rate.
Employee contributions:
PNG Superannuation laws dictate that 6% is the mandatory minimum contribution for employees to make. Employees may choose to contribute more than the minimum.
Employer contributions:
PNG Superannuation laws dictate that 8.4% is the mandatory minimum contribution that employers have to make. Employers may choose to contribute more than the minimum.

Getting started online.
To register for our online services, all you have to do is follow the 6 simple steps below.
Please note, that you will need your current mobile number registered with Nambawan Super before attempting to register for the Online Member portal. To check if your mobile number is registered, please call toll free our Call Centre at 180 1599 or email CallCentre@nambawansuper.com.pg
If your number is not registered, all you need to do, is to fill out the Internet & SMS Registration Form, and email to our Call Centre or lodge at your nearest Branch.
After you have registered your mobile number please proceed to step one.
Log onto the Nambawan Super Online Member Portal to take you to the screenshot below and click on the “Register Now” link (as per the below screenshot) to go to the “Register Now” page.
On the “Register Now” page, enter the following details for the member:
- Member Number – e.g. 377096
- Surname – e.g. Vincent
- Payroll Number – e.g. 10235
Once you have entered all details required, click on the “Register” option.
When the screen below appears, click on 'OK' and an SMS containing your username and a 4-digit token will be sent to your mobile number.
At this stage, you should have received your username and the 4-digit token (as shown below). If you did not receive an SMS, please contact our Call Centre on 180 1599 or email CallCentre@nambawansuper.com.pg
Enter the details from the SMS as required in the page shown below.
- Enter your Token – This is the token that was sent via SMS;
- Enter your New Password (limited to 6 characters only);
- Re-enter New Password; and
- Select the “Submit” button once all required fields are completed.
Then click on "OK".
After you have set your password go back to the login page and check that your login details are working.
Remember your user name is in the SMS that you received when you were setting up your account, which should be your own Nambawan Super Membership number. Once you successfully log in, your online registration process is now complete.
But if you have a smartphone or tablet and would like to install the NSL app, proceed to step 5. The login details for your online access will be the same when you first set up.
You must first download the app on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store
Once the app has been downloaded, You must enter your username and password, then press the “Register” button (see the example below).
You will then be prompted to set up your personal 4 digit PIN and to confirm it again on the following screen (see the example below).
Once your registration is successful, each time you click on the app you will be asked to enter your PIN.
Finally, you will able to access your super account details via the mobile app including list of beneficiaries, account summary, transaction history, housing advance eligibility, and you can even download your annual Member statements as well.

As long as you've completed Internet & SMS Registration process, you can check also your super balance and a few other basic details on your mobile phone with our Super Text Balance service.
To do this, simply dial *661*NSL Membership Number*PIN# and an SMS with your balance will be sent to you.
