Assumptions
Projected super balance at retirement:
The projected total super balance takes into account your starting balance, employee and employer contributions, any additional voluntary contributions as well as interest earned between now and your retirement.
Retirement age:
We have assumed a default retirement age of 65. This can be adjusted in the calculator.
Working life:
The calculator assumes that you will have a continuous working life with no breaks up to your retirement age.
Interest rate:
The default investment returns have been set at 6.0%. This is based on the Nambawan Super 10-year average interest rate.
Employee contributions:
PNG Superannuation laws dictate that 6% is the mandatory minimum contribution for employees to make. Employees may choose to contribute more than the minimum.
Employer contributions:
PNG Superannuation laws dictate that 8.4% is the mandatory minimum contribution that employers have to make. Employers may choose to contribute more than the minimum.

Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) is currently seeking to recruit a highly-motivated individual for the position of Member Services Officer for our Benefits Team within the Customer Services Department.
Reporting to the Team Leader Benefits, the Member Services Officer, Benefits will serve NSL Members through reviewing of all Benefit Payment Applications submitted through i-DOS and also serve Members through various channels such as email and telephone.
Key responsibilities include:
- Attend to members queries by phone, over the counter and via email.
- Ensure benefit payment queries are attended to promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure daily allocation of files are completed/processed.
- Ensure all applications and processing are done accurately to eliminate frauds or losses.
- Ensure processing and accurate response to Members in accordance to the Super Act, policies and procedures.
- Ensure incoming correspondence are recorded and scanned.
- Filing and preparing closed documents for archiving.
- Update the regional and branch offices on the status of payments as advised by responsible stakeholder.
- Ensure branches are informed of any pending files.
- Assist in Member engagement programs.
- Overall Processing of all Benefits Payment and Housing Advance Payment in a timely manner, prior submitting application for approval.
Skills and experiences:
- Minimum Diploma in Management, Finance and/or Business Administration.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Must be Microsoft Office Proficient.
- Must possess sufficient knowledge of Superannuation legislation and associated regulations.
- Effective and confident communicator – spoken and written.
- Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Self-Motivated.
